Earlier this month, I performed dedications for three of my students who have been studying with me for a while and who desired to enter into a dedication period within my system of Witchcraft practice. It got me to thinking, then, about what I might say goes into a dedication since that’s one of the … More What exactly is a “Dedication”?
Loki I am prefacing this with saying that I’m including Loki in this section because of his importance to my Mate and some of my students. Personally, I have not made any oaths to him and do not consider myself a Loki-woman. What the future may hold, I cannot say, but for now I haven’t … More My Gods and Goddesses – Loki
Hath not a Jew eyes? Hath not a Jew hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions? Fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, healed by the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer, as a Christian is? If you prick us, do we not … More Being Human
So maybe this is lazy… Or maybe it’s just something to do while the big idea keeps percolating in my brain and I’ll come back with a full-fledged blog post for this topic all on its own. Who knows? Essentially, it comes from this: I am a member of a few different websites and message … More My response to a Crisis of Faith
Interestingly enough, this is actually one of my top three favorite sabbats. My first favorite is Samhain and second is Beltaine. I’ve said before that the solstices and equinoxes aren’t major holidays in my practice and opinion. They’re important, don’t get me wrong, but important for another reason. Those are the markers that I use … More Imbolc, Brighid, and The Awakening
I read something from a publisher’s website yesterday afternoon that I found very interesting. Most Pagans are familiar with Llewellyn Publishing. It’s the largest provider of Pagan/Wiccan/New Age books out there. It may also be the longest-running publisher for books of this particular niche, but I don’t really know. In any case, a blog posted … More We might be moving…
“It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.” -Aristotle Recently I’ve had the thought cross my mind as to how to define particular spiritual paths or more precisely, my own. It was spurred by reading an article on the Patheos site that talked about whether … More What is “Paganism”?
Athena Athena was the first Goddess that I connected with strongly in a spiritual and religious way. By that, I mean when I really began to dig my heels in and study this path, Witchcraft, as a religion and not as an academic intellectual pursuit, Athena was right there helping me through that transition. So … More My Gods and Goddesses – Athena
I worked for the largest and most established Pagan/New Age bookstore in my area for a couple of years a few years ago. I remember every so often, someone would come in and ask my opinion or for information about the “Mayan Prophecy” that supposedly determined that the world was going to end on 12-21-12 … More Why December 21, 2012 didn’t do anything
I wrote this after meditating and doing a ritual working with Cernunnos. Cernunnos I have a blog post I did a while ago about Cernunnos specifically and my first real experience of him. I have also wanted to write more about him, and some of the other deities I have a strong relationship with, but … More My Gods and Goddesses – Cernunnos
